October 21, Fineko/abc.az. The volume of payments made in Azerbaijan through e-commerce sites with the use of bank cards has been declared.

ABC.AZ reports that over the past 5 years the growth of bank card payments through e-commerce sites in the country amounted to 12 times.

The statement was made by Central Bank’s deputy chair Alim Guliyev at the 2nd Baku E-Commerce Forum. He stressed that by the end of 2018 this figure reached AZN 1.7 bn.

"In turn, the CBA, for a long time as the operator of the payment portal created by it has made special contribution to the development of e-commerce ecosystem in the country," Guliyev said.
