Gold Rises to $4,169 as US Dollar and Bond Yields Retreat

October 9, Fineko/abc.az. Gold prices advanced on Friday as the US dollar eased and US Treasury yields declined.

Spot gold climbed 0.9% to $4,169.32 per ounce, while US gold futures added 0.9% to settle at $4,194.40. The rebound comes as investors evaluate inflation risks and the Federal Reserve's future interest rate trajectory.

Rising energy costs and geopolitical uncertainties in the Middle East continue to fuel inflation fears. According to CME FedWatch, markets are pricing in an 82% probability of a Fed rate hike in December.

Among other precious metals, spot silver rose to $60.00, platinum advanced 2.2% to $1,670.15, and palladium gained 2.1% to $1,146.98.
