Deficit of Azerbaijan's primary income balance drops almost by 16%

September 15, Fineko/abc.az. Deficit in Azerbaijan's primary income balance totaled $907.9 million in the 1st half of 2026 (15.8% less versus Jan-Jun 2025), the Central Bank of Azerbaijan informs.

The overall turnover in primary income, i.e. wages, dividends, interests, rent and investments, amounted to $4.7 billion, of which $2.8 billion (59.7%) accounted for payments from the country abroad.

Of the income received by foreign investors in Azerbaijan, $2 billion was withdrawn from the country, with $1.8 billion of it being funds repatriated by international consortia working mainly in oil and gas projects.

While the oil & gas sector has deficit of $1.4 billion in this section, the non-oil/gas sector has surplus of $500 million.
