September 15, Fineko/abc.az. In the 1st half of 2026, Azerbaijan received $748.5 million from abroad and $207.9 million was transferred from the country abroad.
Samir Nasirov, the director of the Statistics Department of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan, said at a press conference that these figures were 40.2% higher and 12.7% lower, respectively, compared with Jan-Jun 2025. According to CBA official representative, for Jan-Jun 2026, surplus of $525 million was formed in the balance of country's secondary income, mainly due to money transfers.
Russia, Georgia, Turkey and the USA are the leaders in the geography of funds received through money transfer systems.
Nasirov added that although transfers from the Middle East are also being observed, there has currently been no influx of particularly large amounts of funds into the country from this area amid tensions in the region.
