September 2, Fineko/abc.az. Under labor legislation, reduced working hours may be established for certain categories of employees.

The Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Population reported that an employee's age, health condition, working conditions, specific job duties, and other factors are taken into account when reduced working hours are established.

It is noted that for employees under the age of 16, working hours may not exceed 24 hours per week.

“For employees aged 16 to 18, persons with Group I or II disabilities associated with a 61–100% impairment of bodily functions, pregnant women, women with children under 18 months of age, as well as parents raising children under the age of 3 on their own, the working week may not exceed 36 hours.

The same rule applies to employees working in conditions involving physical, chemical, biological and other hazardous production factors harmful to human health, as well as to persons working at workplaces that cause heightened sensitivity, agitation, and mental, physical or nervous strain,” the statement said.
