October 12, Fineko/abc.az. As of September 1, 2026, the number of employees in Azerbaijan reached 1.776 million people, having decreased by 4,300 people or 0.24% for the month.

According to the State Statistics Committee, as of August 1, 2026, this figure was 1.78 milliom people.

As of September 1, 834,200 employees worked in the public sector and 942,600 people worked in the non-governmental sector.

A month earlier, the number of public sector employees totaled 836,900 and the number of non-governmental sector employees - 944,200.

Thus, in August, the number of employees in the public sector declined by 2,700 people and in the private sector by 1,600.
