August 20, Fineko/abc.az. South Korean tech giant Samsung Electronics is set to approve a new shareholder return framework worth over 100 trillion won ($71.75 billion) at its board meeting later this month.
Driven by record profits from the AI-fueled semiconductor boom, the company plans to allocate 50% of its free cash flow (FCF) toward shareholder distributions, including special dividends.
The announcement comes right after local rival SK Hynix unveiled a 40 trillion won share buyback and cancellation plan—previously the largest ever by a listed South Korean firm—which Samsung is now set to double.
