August 12, Fineko/abc.az. The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has approved technical assistance under a capital market development program covering 43 countries, including Azerbaijan.

A total of $225,000 will be allocated through the Technical Assistance Special Fund to support the initiative.

ADB Portfolio and Financing Highlights for Azerbaijan:

• Sovereign Financing (2015–2024): Over this period, ADB provided $2.529 billion in sovereign financing across 10 projects in Azerbaijan.

• Allocation Breakdown: More than half (51%) was dedicated to regional cooperation and integration—one of the highest figures among upper-middle-income countries. Additionally, 39% went to private sector support, 18% to climate finance, and 10% to digital technology projects.

• Non-Sovereign Financing: During the same period, ADB approved 9 non-sovereign projects with a combined value of $963.9 million.
