July 27, Fineko/abc.az. Nvidia is in talks to provide AI startup OpenAI with approx. $250 bn in funding to build a massive data center, The Wall Street Journal informs, citing sources.

This will allow OpenAI to take out a loan for the further lease of a 10-gigawatt power plant, which is being built by a subsidiary of Japanese corporation SoftBank. WSJ reports that the total cost of the entire development could exceed $500 bn, making it the largest data center project.

Last year, OpenAI, Oracle, and SoftBank announced plans to build five new data centers for artificial intelligence in the U.S. as part of Stargate project.
