Speaking to Reuters, Anthropic Product Lead Dianne Penn highlighted that Opus 5 excels in everyday office workflows and software engineering tasks while maintaining lower safety restriction overhead due to reduced cyber-risk capabilities.

The company recommends Opus 5 as an ideal balance of cost and performance for complex, real-world development projects.
