July 14, Fineko/abc.az. The fortune of the founder of Chinese technology company DeepSeek, Liang Wenfeng, more than doubled after the last stage of fundraising, making him the richest in the world among developers of artificial intelligence models.

According to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, Liang Wenfeng's fortune reached $36 bn, significantly exceeding the assets of Greg Brockman ($25.5 bn) and Dario Amodei ($8 bn).

In early 2025, DeepSeek shook up the global technology industry by releasing a model that was on par with top-of-the-line American models, but at a significantly lower cost compared to its US competitors. The startup has continued to gain momentum, recently showcasing its latest V4 model and publicly announcing its compatibility with chips produced by domestic technology giant Huawei Technologies.
