July 2, Fineko/abc.az. The European Union's Statistical Office (Eurostat) has published data on the unemployment rate in the European Union and the Eurozone for May 2026.
The unemployment rate in the Eurozone, taking into account seasonal fluctuations, remained stable at 6.2% in May. At the same time, Eurostat revised downwards the indicator for April - from the previously announced 6.3% to 6.2%.
In general, the EU unemployment rate also did not change compared to April, being fixed at 5.9%. For comparison, in May 2025, the figures were 6.3% for the Eurozone and 6.0% for the EU.
The highest unemployment rates in May were recorded in Finland (10.6%), Spain (10.3%), Sweden (8.7%), France (8.2%), and Greece (8.1%).
