Oil price goes up: Brent - above $73 a barrel

July 1, Fineko/abc.az. Prices of oil of benchmark grades are growing in Wednesday’s trading.

As of 09:55, on the ICE Futures exchange, September’s futures of Brent rose in price by $0.13 (0.18%) up to $73.08 per barrel. At the end of trading on June 30, the contract fell in price by $0.96 (1.30%) to $72.95 per barrel.

On the New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX), August’s WTI crude oil futures grew by $0.12 (0.17%) up to $69.62 per barrel by 09:55. Following the trading on June 30, August’s WTI futures declined in price by $1.25 (1.77%) to $69.50 per barrel.

The price of Azeri Light decreased by $0.26 (0.34%) to $75.34 per barrel.

In the 2nd quarter of 2026, Brent dropped in price by approx. $45 per barrel, the most since 2008. WTI lost about $31 per barrel, showing the worst performance since 2020.
