June 19, Fineko/abc.az. In 2025, Azerbaijan produced chemical output for more than $1.3 billion.

ABC.AZ reports that  AZPROMO Executive Director Yusif Abdullayev said this during panel discussions organized within the 51st IDB annual meeting in Baku.

He pointed out that the chemical and petrochemical industries remain the strongest sectors in Azerbaijan: "In 2025, the total production of chemical, pharmaceutical, rubber and plastic products exceeded $1.3 billion. The total value of the project portfolio of residents operating in the Sumgayit Industrial Park has reached approx. $3.5 billion. This sector has high investment potential due to local hydrocarbon resources, modern infrastructure and established export channels. The main investment areas include production of specialty and construction chemicals, pharmaceutical industry, plastics processing, packaging materials, sealants and sustainable chemical solutions."

"Of course, these are not the only opportunities that we offer to local and foreign investors. Nevertheless, we see that there is both high demand and broad development prospects in the chemical and petrochemical industries. This area will remain one of the main engines of Azerbaijan's industrial development in the coming years," Abdullayev added.
