In compliance with the valid Law on Accounting, since payment and electronic money institutions do not have the status of socially important organizations, they have no obligation to provide their financial statements and audit reports to the public, ABC.AZ reports, referring to the Central Bank of Azerbaijan.

The CBA notes that despite this, a proposal has been sent to the relevant state body to amend the Law in order to include participants in the payment market in the category of socially important organizations.

Currently, Azerbaijan is numbering nine payment organizations and 13 electronic money organizations.
