Solar Power Plant Territory Expanded in Jabrayil – Prime Minister Decrees Land Increase

June 13, Fineko/abc.az. The Government of Azerbaijan has expanded the state-owned land allotment designated for the construction of a major solar power plant (SPP) in the Jabrayil district.

According to ABC.AZ, Prime Minister Ali Asadov signed a decree amending the prior resolution "On designating a state-owned land plot within the administrative territory of the Jabrayil district as a renewable energy source zone."

The upgraded executive plan outlines:

  • Acreage Expansion: The governmental land area allocated within the Jabrayil district—part of the East Zangezur Economic Region—has been officially increased to 263.36 hectares, scaling up from the initially mapped 229.0 hectares.

  • Generation Capacity: The dedicated territory is legally preserved for the installation of a solar power plant with an aggregate generation capacity of 100 MW (with an initial phase deployment kicking off at 50 MW).
