June 11, Fineko/abc.az. As of May 1, 2026, the number of employees in the country was 1,792,300 people, including 862,800 people in the public sector and 929,500 people in the private sector.
ABC.AZ informs with reference to the State Statistics Committee that 18.6% of employees were engaged in trade; vehicle repair, 18.1% in education, 13.8% in industry, 8.7% in the provision of medical and social services to the population, 6.6% in construction, 6.1% in public administration and defense; social security, 4.4% in the field of transport and warehousing, 4.0% in professional, scientific and technical activities, 2.4% in financial and insurance activities, 2.3% in agriculture, forestry and fisheries, and 15.0% in other sectors of the economy.
Over Jan-Apr 2026, the average monthly nominal salary of employees in the country increased by 6.5% compared to Jan-Apr 2025 up to 1,172.1 manats. For Jan-Mar 2026, the average monthly nominal salary of employees in the country amounted to 1,151.5 manats.
