June 2, Fineko/abc.az. President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has signed a decree on the establishment of a new specialized state institution in the country - the National Cybersecurity Agency. The new institution will be subordinated to the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport.
ABC.AZ reports that this decree also approved Agency's Charter. The authorized capital of the new structure will be formed at the expense of Sate Budget 2026.
The powers of the new agency will include:
Coordination of the activities of information infrastructure entities;
Identification, investigation and prevention of actions aimed at violating the cybersecurity of information systems;
Preventive measures in this area.
In addition, the institution will inform about existing and potential cyber threats, educate the public, government and non-governmental organizations, and provide them with methodological support.
