June 1, Fineko/abc.az. Starting from July 15, 2026, a new 100-manat banknote will be put into circulation.

ABC.AZ informs that within the existing concept, processes of updating our national banknotes have been initiated with the use of the latest innovations, nano- and microtechnologies in the field of banknotes, and paper banknotes in denominations of 1, 5, 10, 20 and 50 manats have been issued since 2021.

In continuation of the processes, the security system and the design of the 100-manat banknote dedicated to the theme "Economy & Development" were updated with the use of the latest technologies and innovations within the existing concept.

Among the new protective elements are a three-dimensional hologram effect with color change, dynamic element “Spark Flow Prime” (a color-changing symbol of the manat with dynamic glow effect), a watermark (an image of the State Emblem of Azerbaijan and the face value when viewed in the light), an element for visually impaired people (relief lines along the edges of the banknote to recognize the face value and authenticity to the touch), vertical design on the reverse side, protective thread, ink-free printing, microtexts and other elements.

The new 100-manat banknote also bears the signature of Central Bank of Azerbaijan’s Governor Taleh Kazimov in the upper left corner of the obverse.

Currently, adaptation of all cash payment systems and equipment in the country to the use of the updated 100-manat banknote has begun.
