Toyota loses half of operating profit because of U.S.’ duties

May 8, Fineko/abc.az. Japanese automaker Toyota recorded a 49% drop in operating profit in the 4th quarter ended in March.

ABC.AZ reports, referring to CNBC, that the negative impact of U.S.’ trade duties as the main reason for deterioration in indicators. The financial results turned out to be significantly worse than the forecasts of experts, who expected operating profit of 813.28 bn yens, while the real figure was only 569.4 bn yens. At the same time, the quarterly revenue of the world's largest automaker coincided with market expectations and reached 12.6 trillion yens, showing a rise of 1.89% against the 2025 same term.
