May 4, Fineko/abc.az. The tension in the Strait of Hormuz has provoked acute shortage of Asian-made car tires in the Azerbaijani markets.

ABC.AZ informs that because of the logistical crisis, supplies from Thailand, Taiwan and China have become significantly complicated, as a result of which tires of many popular sizes have not been on sale for several months.

Sellers report rapid depletion of stocks and forced transition to alternative, longer routes. Growth of transportation costs has already affected the wallets of car owners: because of increase in freight costs, retail tire prices jumped by an average of 10-15%, which led to noticeable stagnation in the sector and loss of customers.
