April 15, Fineko/abc.az. In order to expand business ties between Azerbaijan and Latvia, it was proposed to establish a business council between the two countries.

ABC.AZ reports that such a proposal was made by Deputy Minister of Economy Anar Akhundov at the 9th meeting of the Intergovernmental Azerbaijani-Latvian Commission.

"The establishment of a joint Azerbaijani-Latvian Business Council can make important contribution to development of cooperation between small and medium-sized businesses. To strengthen economic ties between the two countries, it is important to organize business forums, B2B meetings, as well as mutual business missions," he stressed.

Akhundov added that cooperation can be expanded in the field of the "green economy" along with agriculture, industry, tourism and technology transfer: "Latvia's experience in the field of reforestation and landscaping can be applied in Azerbaijan, including in the territories liberated from occupation."
