Gucci loses ground: Sales slump increases pressure on Kering

15:08 - 15.04.2026

April 15, Fineko/abc.az. Gucci's sales as part of Kering lowered by 8% in the 1st quarter. This is a poor indicator compared to the analysts' forecast.

ABC.AZ reports that the conflict in the Middle East and the difficult relaunch of the brand have increased the pressure.

The group has made major changes: Luca Demeo became the head of Kering, and Demna Gvasalia became the creative director of Gucci. The company is accelerating the renewal of collections and reforming the business, but it will take time to restore demand.

Gucci ensures around 60% of Kering's profits, so its decline is critical. Against this background, group's shares have declined by nearly 7% since the beginning of the year, and investors are waiting for evidence of brand recovery.
