September 30, Fineko/abc.az. Inflation in Azerbaijan will slow down in the 2nd half of 2025, ABC.AZ informs, referring to the September report of the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
"Inflation accelerated in the 1st half of 2025 amid rising prices for imported products and higher tariffs (for government–regulated services) in mid-2024 and early 2025. The average annual inflation rate grew from 0.7% in the 1st half of 2024 up to 5.9% at the end of June 2025. At that, prices for foods increased by 6.6%, for other goods by 2.7%, and for services by 7.5%," the bank's review notes.
ADB estimates that inflation will slow down over the rest of the year as the effect of administrative price adjustments fades.
"As inflation remained within the target range of 2%-6%, the Central Bank of Azerbaijan lowered the discount rate from 7.25% to 7% in July 2025, for the first time since May 2024. Taking into account the expected slowdown in inflation in the 2nd half of 2025, our inflation forecasts for 2025-2026 remain unchanged at 4.2% and 3.5%, respectively," the ADB report says.
According toMinistry of Economy’s forecasts, average annual inflation in the country this year will be 5.4%, next year - 4.3%. According to CBA’s latest forecasts (July 2025), inflation will reach 5.7% this year and about 5.3% in 2026.
