September 11, Fineko/abc.az. “We are considering the possibility of state-supported promotion of international export certificates in agricultural production,” said Azerbaijani Minister of Agriculture Mejnun Mammadov, as reported by ABC.AZ.

The Minister noted that several important steps are being taken to ensure food security:

“We can mention a frequently used tool such as subsidies. The use of modern irrigation systems has already expanded. Additionally, we have started financing the construction of field protective strips. From this year, we are also providing subsidies for fallow land sowing to maintain crop rotation.”

Mammadov emphasized that these measures aim to promote modern irrigation practices and preserve soil moisture: “We believe that each of these steps will have a positive impact.”

The minister also outlined measures to expand access of agricultural products to global markets:

“We are considering the possibility of state-supported international export certifications, which are necessary for promoting agricultural products abroad. While agricultural exports are being carried out, to increase export volumes, we must ensure that the products meet international standards.”
