September 5, Fineko/abc.az. The Estonian Electronic Governance Academy Foundation (eGA) intends to study and support the development of cyber diplomacy in Azerbaijan.

According to ABC.AZ, which cites Report, eGA Chief Cyber Security Specialist Elsa Neeme made the remark at the 6th Summit of Heads of IT Services of Government Agencies in Baku.

According to her, cooperation with Azerbaijani structures opens up broad prospects for strengthening international cooperation in the field of cybersecurity and the formation of modern mechanisms for protecting critical infrastructure.

"We plan to actively participate in the development of cyber diplomacy, which is currently coordinated by AZ-CERT together with Romania and the Azerbaijan Cyber Diplomacy Center. This large-scale area of work includes participation in training programs on risk assessment, incident management, implementation of cybersecurity frameworks, development of practical procedures of national and sectoral CERTs, as well as strengthening their capacity. It is also important for us to contribute to the promotion of a whole-of-society approach, including the protection of personal data," she emphasized. According to Neeme, the main goals of eGA include strengthening governance systems in the Eastern Partnership countries, developing effective frameworks for the protection of critical infrastructure, as well as increasing the operational resilience and capabilities of national structures. She noted that the organization intends to actively participate in events in Azerbaijan, including major CISO forums. "We are proud to be returning to Baku in October to participate in the Critical Infrastructure Defense Challenge 2025 and the cyber war simulation exercise. In addition, a lot of attention is paid to supporting vulnerable groups, in particular women in cybersecurity. In this regard, I am pleased to announce another important event - the Women in Cyber Conference, which will be held on October 11, will be a logical continuation of the Critical Infrastructure Defense Challenge," added the eGA representative.
