McDonald's sells 8 retail locations in Hong Kong

July 29, Fineko/abc.az. McDonald's Corp. is selling eight retail premises it owns in key districts of Hong Kong - worth about 1.2 billion Hong Kong dollars ($153 million) - despite the continued weakness of the local real estate market.

ABC.AZ reports that the restaurants will continue to operate in their former locations - after the sale, McDonald's will remain as a tenant. According to JLL, interest in the assets is high due to their advantageous location and attractive profitability, despite an overall 2.3% decrease in rental rates in the 1st half of the year and a forecast to fall to 10% in 2025.

The sale is part of McDonald's strategy to optimize its real estate portfolio. The company emphasizes that it is fully committed to the Hong Kong market. The deadline for acceptance of applications is September 16.
