OpenAI signs a $30 billion deal with Oracle

July 3, Fineko/abc.az. OpenAI has signed a $30 billion-a-year deal with Oracle to create data centers (data centers) for joint project Stargate with SoftBank.

ABC.AZ informs, referring to the Financial Times, that Oracle will build several data centers in the U.S. with overall computing capacity of 4.5 GW (about a quarter of the capacity of existing data centers).

OpenAI and SoftBank have previously announced that Stargate will invest up to $500 billion in the construction of data centers in the U.S. and around the world.

Stargate has raised around $50 billion from its founding partners, including Oracle itself and sovereign wealth fund Abu Dhabi MGX.

The company does not disclose how much of this capital was invested.
