Turkey's economy slows to 2% growth in 1st quarter of 2025

June 2, Fineko/abc.az. According to the Turkish Institute of Statistics, the Turkish economy grew by 2% year-on-year in the first quarter of 2025.

ABC.AZ informs that GDP in current prices amounted to 12.12 trillion liras ($335.5 billion), an increase of 36.7%. In quarterly terms, the growth was 1%, down from 1.7% in the previous quarter.

Industry decreased by 1.8%, agriculture - by 2%, manufacturing - by 2.4%. Growth in construction slowed from 8.7% to 7.3%. Household consumption increased by 2%, government spending - by 1.2%. Investments slowed to 2.1%.

Exports remained at the level of last year, while imports increased by 3%. The share of wages in gross value added grew from 41.7% to 43.7%.
