Holcim has successfully launched the second season of the large-scale national initiative “USTA MƏNƏM!” in collaboration with the Vocational and Technical Education Center under the Agency for the Development of Economic Zones.
The first qualifying round took place in Khirdalan, on the premises of the Binastore construction materials store. Registration began in mid-April, and nearly 300 masons have already submitted applications. Based on preliminary selection results, 30 top masons were invited to demonstrate their skills and compete for a place in the finals.
“USTA MƏNƏM!” is a continuation of the highly successful first season held last year, which brought together nearly 1,000 registered masons, with around 400 advancing to regional qualifying rounds held across 14 regions. The high level of interest, strong competition, and positive public feedback inspired the organizers to expand the project's reach: in 2025, the competition will cover 17 districts of Azerbaijan!
The competition tasks assessed not only technical skills but also precision, speed, and professional approach. Participants built brick walls under the strict but fair supervision of a jury composed of experts in masonry and finishing works.
“We clearly see how important it is to support skilled masons and how great the interest is in this profession. ‘USTA MƏNƏM!’ is no longer just a competition – it’s a movement that elevates craftsmanship and gives true value to mastery. Together with the participants, we are laying the foundation for a new tradition where professionalism earns respect and recognition,” said Sergiu Stoicov, General Director of Holcim Azerbaijan.
In addition to the competition itself, guests at the event had the opportunity to explore Holcim products, discover the new Tector line of dry mixes, and receive commemorative gifts.
The next qualifying round will take place on May 13 in Salyan. Registration is still open – call *1010 or visit www.holcim.az
