May 7, Fineko/abc.az. The Azerbaijan Institute of Metrology (AzMI) and the National Institute of Metrology of Turkey (TUBITAK UME) have signed a new agreement on the establishment of a laboratory network.
ABC.AZ informs that the Agency for Antimonopoly Control & Consumer Market Supervision informed about this.
The document was signed by the heads of two institutions, Khamis Seyranov and Mustafa Cetintash. The agreement provides for the creation of ten new laboratories based on AzMİ, as well as the modernization of four existing ones.
The new labs will specialize in calibration and measurements in the field of gas and liquid calorimetry, gas metrology, etc.
The agreement also covers equipping laboratories with modern equipment, software implementation and specialized training for specialists.
The signing ceremony was attended by Agency’s chairman Elnur Bagirov, Deputy Minister of Industry and Technology of Turkey Mohammad Kassym Genullu, Milli Majlis Committee chairman Azer Amiraslanov, Head of the Presidential Administration Department Vusal Shikhaliyev, Head of the Cabinet of Ministers Department Elshan Hajizade and Turkish Ambassador to Azerbaijan Birol Akgun.
During the event, it was emphasized that the new infrastructure, which meets international standards, will contribute to the entry of Azerbaijani products into foreign markets and strengthen the country's export potential. The parties also expressed confidence in the further successful development of bilateral cooperation in the field of metrology.
