April 3, Fineko/abc.az. BYD set a sales record in the first quarter of 2025, ABC.AZ reports, referring to portal motor.ru.
From January to March, one of China's largest automakers managed to sell 416,388 electric vehicles, which is almost 40% more than a year earlier.
Hybrid sales totaled 569,710 cars, up 76% from the first quarter of 2024. In March alone, BYD shipped 206,084 electric vehicles abroad, increasing exports by 111%.
For PHEV vehicles, BYD's sales increased from 51.9% to 57.8% over the year. The share of sales of electric vehicles decreased from 48.1% to 42.2%.
Analysts estimate that BYD will set another record this year and sell 5.5 million vehicles worldwide. Last year, the result was 4.3 million, and in 2023 - 3 million.
