Azerbaijan establishes a new customs duty on import of these products

October 16, Fineko/abc.az. A new customs duty has been established for import of live and chilled fish species and safety shoes.

ABC.AZ was informed at the Cabinet Ministers that this decision was made taking into account the received appeals from local manufacturers in order to increase competitiveness of domestic production, protect the domestic market, including further strengthening state support for local entrepreneurs.

Currently, in accordance with Cabinet’s Resolution #500 from November 17, 2017, a customs duty has been established on imports of a number of species of live and chilled fish at rate of 0%, and on imports of protective shoes at rate of 15%.

In accordance with Cabinet’s adopted Resolution  #453, until 30 June 2026, import customs duties on a number of species of live and chilled fish are increased from rate of 0% up to rate of 15%, as well as customs duties applied to import of protective shoes are increased from rate of 15% and set at $9 per 1 pair in a specific the form of the fee.
