July 11, Fineko/abc.az. Potato yields have significantly decreased in Jalilabad district this year, ABC.AZ reports with reference to the Statistics Department of Jalilabad district.

For the reported term, 61,000 tons of potatoes were harvested from an area of 2,900 hectares, the yield was 210 quintals, last year this figure was close to 290 quintals.

Last year, 158,920 tons of potatoes were grown on an area of 5,500 hectares.

According to farmers, in recent years there have been problems with the supply of products. So, last year the product was sold for 20-25 gapiks.

This price does not cover the costs incurred.

At that, farmers say that last year they were unable to send products to Russian markets because of high cost of transportation.
