July 8, Fineko/abc.az. Since the beginning of 2024, transit traffic between Azerbaijan and China has increased significantly.

ABC.AZ reports that executive director of the Azerbaijan Export & Investment Promotion Agency (AZPROMO) Yusif Abdulalyev said about this during the conference on the promotion of logistics and trade in Azerbaijan – the SCO demonstration zone.

Abdullayev stressed that Azerbaijan's location at the crossroads of Europe and Asia is strategically important, especially in the field of transit logistics.

"In 2024, transit traffic between Azerbaijan and China reached 178,000 tons, which is 31.6% more than in 2023. In particular, transportation by rail increased by 93%. On July 3, Azerbaijan and China signed a joint declaration on the establishment of a strategic partnership. This document provides for international cooperation in the fields of economics, trade, culture and tourism. Both countries support this activity," Abdullayev said.
