February 5, Fineko/abc.az. Azerbaijan and Türkiye delivered 13.3 million eggs to Russia by February 5, ABC.AZ reports with reference to Rosselkhoznadzor.

"From February 1 to February 4, regular shipments of eggs from Azerbaijan in the amount of 1.5 million eggs and from Türkiye in the amount of 633,600 eggs were received through Yarag-Kazmalyar checkpoint for further sale on the territory of Russia," the organization says.

The Russian Federation, amid a sharp increase in egg prices, zeroed the duty on their import in the 1st half of 2024. It is assumed that this will allow the import of 1.2 bn eggs.

According to Rosstat, in 2023, eggs in Russia rose in price 1.6-fold, in December - by 18.2%. In January, consumer prices began to decline. From January 10 to January 15, eggs fell in price by 0.2%, for the first time since the end of June 2023, from January 16 to January 22, the decline accelerated to 1.4%, but from January 23 to January 29, the rate of price decline slowed to 1%.
