January 26, Fineko/abc.az. Azerbaijan produced 2.188 bn eggs (including eggs of all types of poultry) for 2023.
Egg production increased by 8.4%, or 170 million eggs, compared with 2022, ABC.AZ reports with reference to the State Statistics Committee.
In 2023, poultry farms produced 1.53 bn chicken eggs (20%, or 173.5 million more than in 2022).
In 2023, the number of laying hens in poultry farms reached 4.422 million heads, and on average 244 eggs were received from each laying hen.
Last year, most of all eggs were produced in Hajigabul (414 million eggs), Khizi (407.8 million eggs) and Sabirabad (215.7 million eggs) districts.
