January 15, Fineko/abc.az. As of January 1, 2024, out of 1,515,306 taxpayers registered in Azerbaijan, 1,322,461 or 87.3% were individuals and 192,845 or 12.7% legal entities and other organizations. Compared with 2022, the total number of taxpayers increased by 8.2%, including the number of individuals by 8.1% and legal entities by 8.8%.
ABC.AZ reports, referring to the State Tax Service that the number of commercial organizations that passed state registration reached 176,321 (a rise of 9.4% on the number of commercial institutions).
As of January 1, 2024, 90.7% of commercial legal entities registered in the state were established in the form of a limited liability company, 1.3% - a joint-stock company, 1.1% - a cooperative, etc. On this date, the number of active VAT-payers as part of commercial organizations registered by the state reached 34,926 (14.1% more than on January 1, 2023).
