November 29, Fineko/abc.az. By the end of Jan-Sept 2023, Germany remained the world leader in the export of chocolate, having sold it for $3.84 billion.

ABC.AZ reports with reference to the Association of Confectionery Industry Enterprises that the main exporters of cocoa products this year were the EU countries.

The list was led by Germany, which exported chocolate products for $3.84 billion in 2023 (13% more than last year). Belgium took 2nd place with a 1% increase in exports to $1.77 billion. And the Netherlands pushed Poland out of 3rd place, increasing exports by 18% over the year, to $1.66 billion.

Poland, which was in 4th place, increased chocolate exports by 10% during this year, to $1.63 billion. Canada and Italy are next with volumes of $1.33 and $1.29 billion, respectively. At that, Canadians increased exports by 2%, and Italians, on the contrary, reduced by 7%.

In addition, Top 10 in export of sweets included Malaysia – $1.12 billion (a rise of 14%), the U.S – $995 million (a drop of 13%), the UK – $652.5 million (a rise of 0.12%) and Switzerland – $643.1 million (a rise of 16%).
