November 21, Fineko/abc.az. The total volume of oil pumping through the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline (BTC) amounted to 4.3 billion barrels.
ABC.AZ reports that Colin Allan, bp’s vice president finance for the Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Türkiye (AGT) region, said this at the SPE Annual Caspian Technical Conference held in Baku today.
He added that these volumes, in addition to Azerbaijani oil, also include oil from the fields of Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan.
Currently, the BTC pipeline pumps oil from the Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli block of fields and condensate from Shah Deniz field, as well as SOCAR oil.
BTC is also used to pump oil from a number of other countries in the Caspian Sea region.
The length of the BTC oil pipeline is 1,768 km, of which in Azerbaijan - 443 km, Georgia - 249 km, Türkiye - 1,076 km. Pipeline's capacity exceeds 50 million tons of oil a year.
