Meeting on electricity export from Central Asian countries held

November 21, Fineko/abc.az. A trilateral meeting of the Central Asian countries has been held to consider export of electricity and renewable energy sources.

ABC.AZ reports that representatives of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan took part in the meeting. The potential of electricity exports from the Central Asian region was discussed at the meeting.

Azerbaijani Economy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov said that the meeting was attended by the ministers of energy and economy of the three countries, who discussed the export of electricity, as well as other issues related to the energy economy.

He added that the main focus of negotiations was on the issue of renewable energy sources and the need to strengthen them in the region, as well as identifying new opportunities for exporting electricity outside the Central Asian region.
