Customs Committee endorses Code of Ethical Conduct of Customs Officials

November 15, Fineko/abc.az. The Board of the State Customs Committee has approved the Code of Ethical Conduct of Customs Officials.

ABC.AZ reports that in this regard, SCC chairman Shahin Bagirov signed a resolution under which, the code will apply to officials of special rank serving in customs authorities and institutions, as well as to customs officers holding positions not provided for by a special rank.

The main purpose of this Code is to increase the prestige of the customs authorities and the service in customs authorities, to increase confidence of persons in customs authorities and customs officers.

In addition, the Code prohibits performing actions (inaction) or making decisions aimed at obtaining illegal material and other benefits, privileges or benefits, directly or indirectly, by an employee of the customs authority.

The SCC Legal Support Department is tasked to submit a new decision to the Ministry of Justice within 3 days for entry into the State Register of Legal Acts.
