November 13, Fineko/abc.az. Work is underway in Azerbaijan to determine the directions of strategic projects in the non-oil/gas sector.

ABC.AZ reports that Economy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov said this during the discussion of the Draft Law on State Budget 2024 at today's Milli Majlis meeting.

The minister noted that another important task to be completed is restructuring of activities of state–owned companies, improving their efficiency and introducing dividend payments to the state budget in these organizations:

"This is already reflected in the State Budget. It is linked with the results achieved in the activities of state-governed companies with creation of an Investment Holding. It is no coincidence that eight out of 12 companies that joined the holding last year can pay dividends. The total operating profit of these companies has already exceeded 15 billion manats. In 2020, this figure was about 4-5 billion manats. The next year's state budget envisages payment of significant dividends on SOCAR. We consider it important to prepare dividend policy for other state-owned companies in the coming years."
