October 11, Fineko/abc.az. Over Jan-Aug 2023, the average monthly nominal wage of employees in the Azerbaijani economy grew by 11.3% compared with the relevant period of the previous year and reached 923 manats.

ABC.AZ was informed at the State Statistics Committee that average monthly nominal salary was higher in the mining industry, financial and insurance activities, professional, scientific and technical activities, as well as in the field of information and communications.

As of September 1, 2023, the number of employees in the country's economy reached 1,706,600 people, including 887,700 people working in the public sector of the economy, and 818,900 people working in the non-state sector.

Of the employees, 18.8% were employed in trade; vehicle repair, 18.8% in education, 12.8% in industry, 8.5% in healthcare and provision of social services to the population, 6.5% in public administration and defense; social security, 6.4% in construction, 4.3% in transport and warehousing, 3.7% - professional, scientific and technical activities, 3.4% in agriculture, forestry and fishing, 2.1% - in financial and insurance activities and 14.7% - in other sectors of the economy.
