September 6, Fineko/abc.az. European statistical office Eurostat has published data on retail sales in the European Union and the eurozone for July.
ABC.AZ informs that according to the report, retail sales in the EU in July decreased by 0.3% compared with the previous month and by 1.2% against the same period of 2022.
Retail sales in the eurozone in July decreased by 0.2% compared to June and by 1% versus the same period of the previous year. According to surveys, a decrease of 0.2% per month and 1.2% per year was expected.
Among the EU countries, the largest decrease in retail sales against the previous month was recorded in Denmark and Ireland - by 2.3%, the Netherlands - by 1.4% and Luxembourg - by 1.3%.
Year-on-year retail sales fell by 16.3% in Slovenia, by 8.6% in Estonia and by 7.6% in Hungary.
