May 16, Fineko/abc.az. The date of full provision of the population with broadband Internet in Azerbaijan has been announced.

ABC.AZ reports that by the end of 2024, the entire population of the country will be provided with broadband Internet.

Minister of Digital Development & Transport Rashad Nabiyev stated about this during his speech at international telecommunications conference M360 GSMA.

"We are working on laying a fiber-optic line in the Caspian Sea. This will create a powerful impetus for establishing ties between Azerbaijan and Central Asia. 46% of the world's population have poor knowledge and skills in the digital sphere. We are faced with the task of widespread use of digitalization. In the coming years, we will train competent personnel in the field of cybersecurity. We are working to increase the speed of the Internet in the country. We are witnessing incorrect frequency tuning. We also perform the tasks of deploying frequencies in a 5G connection. Azercell will be the first company to introduce 5G," Nabiyev said.
