AZN 412 million returned to Azerbaijani population as part of VAT refund mechanism

April 14, Fineko/abc.az. In Azerbaijan, as of 1 April 2023, a total of more than AZN 412 million have been returned to the population since the beginning of the application of the VAT Refund Mechanism.

ABC.AZ was informed at the State Tax Service, more than AZN 36 million of VAT was returned for Jan-Mar 2023 alone.

17.5% of the VAT paid is returned to consumers when paying for purchased goods and services received in cashless order, and 5% when paying in cash.

The STS also continues work on introduction of new-generation cash registers in the country. Currently, the number of online KKA sold throughout the country is more than 87,000.

For the past 3 months of 2023 the turnover registered through the new generation cash registers exceeded AZN 4.9 bn (20.6% more versus Jan-Mar 2022).
