February 24, Fineko/abc.az. Azerbaijani children born today will be able to reach only 58% of their potential fertility by the age of 18.

ABC.AZ reports that Fadia Saadah, WB director for human development in Europe and Central Asia, stated about this.

She noted that children and adolescents in Azerbaijan have relatively poor health and low learning outcomes in relation to the country's income level.

"This becomes the reason for their lower productivity in the future. The new analysis comes to serious conclusions. That is, children who started training at the age of 4 years, at the age of 18 years, reach the actual training time equal to only 8.3 years. Children born today can wait an average of only 0.9 years for higher education. Meanwhile, the probability of death from non-communicable diseases at the age of 30 to 70 years is very high, reaching 22%. In the future, Azerbaijan can improve the situation in various ways. Ensuring equal access to quality education, healthcare, social protection and employment services for the poorest and most vulnerable groups of the population will help give the country the right direction to ensure that citizens and communities reach their full potential,” Saadah said.
