Loan portfolio of banks in Azerbaijan starts growing again

February 10, Fineko/abc.az. In 2021, the banking sector of Azerbaijan, recovering from the effects of the coronavirus pandemic, began to increase loan portfolios again with relative recovery of the economy.

ABC.AZ reports that according to the Central Bank, by the end of 2022 the loan portfolio of the country's banks reached AZN 19.59 bn.

For comparison, this means AZN 2.935 bn or 17.6% of excess credit compared to the end of 2021.

But not all banks in the country had such growth rates. Moreover, in some banks there was a reduction in the loan portfolio.

In general, loans increased in 20 out of the country's 25 banks, and loans decreased in 5 banks.
