Central Bank raised discount rate up to 8.5%

February 1, Fineko/abc.az. For the first time this year, the Central Bank of Azerbaijan raised the discount rate by 25 basis points to 8.5%.

ABC.AZ reports that the lower limit of the percentage corridor was increased by 50 basis points to 6.75% and the upper limit by 25 basis points to 9.5%.

The decision comes into force on 1 February 2023.

The last time the Central Bank raised the discount rate on 16 December 2022 - by 25 basis points - to 8.25%.
